Our Sound & Style

Dark, sinister trip-hop with an original sound.  Night music to listen to while enjoying deviant activities, vibing with friends, or mellowing out relaxing at night.  We aim to revitalize the trip-hop genre be creating a unique, modern sound that expands upon influential trip-hop artists such as Massive Attack, Portishead, and Sneaker Pimps.  Rather than simply mimicking the work of those that came before us, we strive to add an original, darker, heavier twist to the genre.

Why Midnight Alice?

Justin (Producer) : I love trip hop – it’s by far my favorite genre.  But NEW good trip-hop is hard to find these days.  I love classic trip-hop such as Massive Attack, Tricky, Portishead, Sneaker Pimps, and Switchblade Symphony – but it’s extremely difficult to find new artists/bands as the genre seems to be relatively dead.  With Midnight Alice, we’re making the music that I wish I could find out there – it’s as simple as that, and I think fans of the genre can get behind that.

Style & Sound

  • Sinister, twisted, and sensual trip-hop
  • Dark, groove heavy, bass heavy trip-hop music
  • Primarily downtempo, mellow night music
  • An occasional hard metal edge using elements of rock/metal in our trip-hop tracks
  • Infused with elements of electronic, rock, metal, jazz, with occasional orchestral arrangements
  • Multiple vocalists and vocal styles to create diversity in sound and style
  • A unique and original style that progresses the genre beyond what has been done in the past

Debut Studio Album

Midnight Alice was conceptualized by Justin Brazil, Dan Goats, and Mike Olmeda over a number of years.  It
